Initially schools require a registration fee. Once the child is accepted there are the annual school fees, school uniform, sports equipment and "extras" which vary from school to school. Ask what extras are payable for: learning a musical instrument, individual sports coaching, speech and drama, milk, fruit, etc. Consider, too, the expenses incurred when the child is staying with a guardian family, for warm clothing, outings, travel and personal spending money.
